  • 2 1/4 cups (560 ml) brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) cocoa powder, sifted
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) cornstarch
  • 4 oz (115 g) dark chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups (375 ml) water
  • 1 1/2 cups (375 ml) 35% or half-and-half cream
  • 1/2 tsp (2.5 ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups (375 ml) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp (2.5 ml) baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp (2.5 ml) baking soda
  • A pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (250 ml) sugar
  • 1/3 cup (75 ml) cocoa powder, sifted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) milk

Инструкция

  1. In a saucepan, combine the brown sugar, cocoa powder, and cornstarch. Add the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil while whisking, then simmer for 10 seconds. Transfer to the slow cooker.

The slow cooker comes to the rescue for this decadent pudding cake best served warm.
