  • 4 1/2 lbs (2 kg) firm but ripe Italian or Mont-Royal plums, pitted and diced
  • 4 cups (840 g) sugar
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) lemon juice

  1. In a large heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the plums, sugar and lemon juice. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the jam sets.
  2. Pour the jam into sterilized jars.
  3. Serve as a side of our Kugelhopf
