Ингредиенты

  • 1 cup (250 ml) cold water
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vinegar
  • 5 cups (1.25 litres) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) salt
  • 1 1/4 lb (570 g) vegetable shortening, cut into large cubes (about 625 ml (2 1/2 cups)
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten, for brushing
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed 

  • 3 medium red onions, finely chopped 

  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped 

  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable oil
  • 5 lbs (2.3 kg) ground pork
  • 3/4 lb (350 g) ground beef
  • Spices of your choice (basil, oregano, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, bay leaf ...)
  • 1 cup (250 ml) beef broth
  • Salt and pepper 




Инструкция

  1. In a measuring cup, combine the water and vinegar. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the shortening and cut with a pastry blender or two knives. Gradually add the water and vinegar mixture, stirring until the dough is smooth. Form the dough into eight discs. Cover in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 24 hours.
