In a saucepan, bring the water, cranberries and sugar to a boil. Simmer for 3 minutes or until the cranberries start to burst. Let cool. Transfer to an 8-cup (2 litre) glass jar. Refrigerate until completely chilled. Add the vodka and seal tightly. Refrigerate for about 7 days.

Line a sieve with cheesecloth and strain the vodka. Reserve the cranberries for garnishing cocktails. Transfer the cranberry vodka to an airtight bottle. Store in the freezer.

Serve over ice or in a Pink Martini.
