  • 2 Asian pears, peeled, cored and cut into 8 wedges

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, bring the water and sugar to a boil. Cook until the mixture turns golden. Swirl the skillet around a few times to even out the color.
  2. Add the pears, taking care to avoid spattering. Cook, stirring frequently, for about 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the pears, cook until the syrup thickens and pour over the pears.
