1/4 cup (60 ml) soy sauce
3 tbsp (45 ml) molasses
1 tsp (5 ml) sambal oelek
3 carrots, peeled and diced
1 onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 tbsp fresh ginger, chopped
1/4 cup (60 ml) canola oil
1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef
4 cups (600 g) cooked long grain parboiled rice, cooled
2 cups (300 g) frozen peas, thawed
Iceberg lettuce, thinly sliced, to taste (optional)
