With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with silicone or paper liners.

In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and allspice, if desired.

In another bowl, coarsely mash the bananas using a fork. Add the brown sugar, eggs, yogurt and oil. Whisk to combine. Using a spatula, gently mix in the dry ingredients just until moistened. Divide the batter among the muffin cups.

Bake for 22 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the centre of the muffins comes out clean. Let cool. Unmould and let cool completely on a wire rack.
