Cheddar Croutons
Ingredients
- 8 slices baguette, cut diagonally
- Olive oil
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) grated cheddar cheese
- 1 clove garlic
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F). Place the bread on a baking sheet. Brush with oil. Season with salt and pepper. Bake for about 10 minutes or until the bread is lightly toasted. Let cool and rub each crouton with the garlic clove. Preheat the oven’s broiler. Place 15 ml (1 tablespoon) of cheese on each crouton and brown under the broiler. Serve immediately with Country-Style Sorrel Soup.
