«Totally Cool» Macaroni & Cheese
Ingredients
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) butter
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) flour
- 2 cups (500 ml) milk, hot
- 2 cups (500 ml) macaroni
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) cheese spread (Cheez Whiz-type)
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) orange cheddar cheese, grated
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) mozzarella cheese, grated
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) paprika
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
- Salt
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, sauté the onion in the butter. Add the flour and stir for 1 minute. Add the milk. Stir until the mixture thickens.
- Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, cook the pasta in plenty of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain the pasta and add to the sauce.
- Add the cheese, paprika, Cayenne pepper and salt. Stir until the cheese has melted.
