Chai Latte
Ingredients
- 500 ml (2 cups) milk
- 15 ml (1 heaping tbsp) chai tea leaves
- 1 star anise
- 3 pods cardamom
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) brown sugar
- 2.5 ml (1/2 tsp) vanilla extract, or other to taste (orange, coffee, almond)
- 2 sticks cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the milk, chai tea, anise and cardamom. Warm over medium heat, without boiling, for about 12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat and strain.
- Add the brown sugar and vanilla extract. Serve warm with a cinnamon stick, if desired. You can also refrigerate the chai latte to enjoy it cold.
