  • 500 ml (2 cups) fresh or frozen and thawed strawberries
  • 60 ml (¼ cup) sugar
  • 125 ml (½ cup) milk
  • 60 ml (¼ cup) brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2.5 ml (½ tsp) vanilla extract
  • 4 slices white bread
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) unsalted butter
  • Icing sugar

  1. In a food processor, purée the strawberries with the sugar until smooth. You can strain the mixture through a sieve to remove the seeds. Keep the sauce in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
