Pizza Dough (food processor method)
Ingredients
- 1 cup (250 ml) lukewarm water
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sugar
- 2 1/2 cups (625 ml) unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons (7.5 ml) instant yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) salt
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the water, oil and sugar.
- With a stand mixer or food processor (use the kneading hook or plastic blade respectively), combine the flour, yeast and salt. Add the water mixture and mix on medium speed or process until the dough forms a soft ball.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead until smooth, about 5 minutes. Shape into a ball and place in a clean, lightly oiled bowl. Cover the bowl with a damp tea towel and set the bowl in a warm, humid location for about 1 hour.
- Use the dough immediately or wrap it with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 12 hours or freeze.
