Whole-Wheat Pizza Dough
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups (310 ml) warm water
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) honey
- 2 teaspoons (10 ml) instant dry yeast
- 1 1/4 cups (310 ml) unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups (310 ml) whole-wheat flour
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) salt
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine water, oil, honey, and yeast. Set aside.
- In a bowl, with a wooden spoon or in a stand mixer using the dough hook, combine flour and salt. Add liquids and stir until it forms a soft ball. Knead dough for about 2 minutes on a floured work surface or in stand mixer until smooth.
- Form a ball with dough and place it in a clean and lightly oiled bowl. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm and humid place for about 1 hour or until dough has doubled in volume.
- Use dough immediately or cover in plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 12 hours or freeze.
