Chocolate Pouding

Ingredients

  • 3 cups (750 ml) brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) cocoa powder, sifted
  • 2 teaspoons (10 ml) cornstarch
  • 2 1/2 cups (625 ml) water
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) 35% cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (250 ml) milk
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) cocoa powder, sifted
  • 1 1/2 cups (375 ml) unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups (375 ml) sugar
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Butter a 23 x 33-cm (9 x 13-inch) Pyrex or aluminum baking dish.
