  • 1 large white onion, sliced
  • 1 large red onion, sliced
  • 10 oz (300 g) cipollini onions, peeled
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and pepper

  1. Preheat the gas grill, setting the burners to low.
  2. In a bowl, combine the onions, oil and vinegar. Season with salt and pepper. Place the onions in the centre of a large sheet of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Fold up the sides and crimp the edges to make a tightly sealed packet. Grill until the onions are tender,
  3. about 45 minutes.
  4. Serve with Beef Brochettes with Capers and Parmesan.
