Ingredients

  • 2 lbs (1 kg) lean ground veal or other meat of your choice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup (250 ml) corn flakes
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) prepared mustard
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten 

  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) brown sugar, to taste
  • Salt and pepper 




Instructions

  1. With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F). Oil a 23 x 13-cm (9 x 5-inch) Pyrex loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, combine all the ingredients except for the brown sugar. Season with salt and pepper. Place in the prepared pan, pressing lightly. Sprinkle with the brown sugar.
  3. Bake for 1 hour. Slice and drizzle with the pan juices. Serve with mashed potatoes and green or yellow wax beans.
  4. Serve with ketchup, if desired.
