Asian-Style Pork Burgers with Barbecue Sauce
Ingredients
- 1/2 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) hoisin sauce
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) ketchup
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sugar
- Salt and pepper
- 1 1/2 cups (375 ml) bean sprouts
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) hoisin sauce
- 1 lb (454 g) lean ground pork
- 4 Boston lettuce leaves
- 4 hamburger buns
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, brown the onion in the oil. Add the remaining
- ingredients and bring to boil. Simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring
- frequently, until the sauce thickens. Set aside.
- Preheat the grill, setting the burners on high.
