  • 4 cups (1 litre) ground cherries
  • 1 cup (250 ml) sugar
  • 1 /4 cup (60 ml) lemon juice
  • 1 vanilla bean

Инструкция

  1. In a heavy saucepan, combine the ground cherries, sugar, and lemon juice.
  2. Split the vanilla bean in half lengthwise. With the tip of a knife,
  3. scrape the vanilla seeds and drop them into the pan with the
  4. pod. If using vanilla extract, add it after cooking.
  5. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Simmer for about 25 minutes or until
  6. the cooking juices are slightly syrupy.
  7. Pour into sterilized jars.
  8. Serve with toast, cookies or vanilla cake.
