Caramelized Apple Tart
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups (375 ml) rolled oats
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) flour
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) sliced almonds, toasted
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) brown sugar
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 package 250 g cream cheese, at room temperature
- 2 teaspoons (10 ml) vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) sugar
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) 35% cream, whipped
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) unsalted butter
- 5 cups (1.25 litres) Cortland apples, peeled, cored and cut into 10 segments (about 4 apples)
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) Calijo or Calvados
Instructions
- With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 190 °C (375 °F).
