Ingredients
- 1/4 cup (55 g) butter
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) hot sauce (see note)
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup (30 g) blue cheese, crumbled, plus more for serving
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) sour cream
- 2 tbsp flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) lemon juice
- 1 tsp (5 ml) honey
- 1 small garlic clove, finely chopped
- 1/2 celery stalk, cut into small dice (optional)
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) lemon juice
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) water
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 cup (75 g) unbleached all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 3 cups (90 g) crispy rice cereal, lightly crushed (see note)
- 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 1/2 tsp dried tarragon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 lb (450 g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs (about 4 to 5 thighs)
- 3 tbsp (45 ml) vegetable oil
- 4 brioche hamburger buns, warmed (see note)
- Romaine lettuce leaves, torn, to taste
Instructions
- In a small pot, combine all of the ingredients. Bring to a boil. Simmer for 5 minutes or until the sauce has reduced by half. Set aside.
