Hot Buttered Rum with Cider
Ingredients
- 4 cups (1 litre) hard apple cider
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) brown sugar
- 1 pinch freshly grated nutmeg
- 2 cloves
- 3 tablespoons (45 ml) unsalted butter
- 1 cup (250 ml) dark rum
- 8 mugs, warmed
- 8 long cinnamon sticks
Instructions
- In a saucepan, bring the cider, brown sugar, nutmeg, cloves and butter to a boil. Remove from the heat and whisk until the butter emulsifies. Add the rum. Remove the cloves and pour into the warmed mugs.
- Garnish each mug with a cinnamon stick. Serve immediately.
