Beef Barbecue Sauce Poutine

Ingredients

  • 6 cups (1 kg) russet potato wedges cut ½ inch (1.5 cm) thick, skin on
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ¼ cup (40 g) unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 cups (500 ml) beef broth
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) ketchup
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • 10 oz (280 g) cheese curds (or grated cheddar)

Instructions

  1. With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Toss the potatoes with the oil on the prepared baking sheet and season with salt and pepper. Arrange the potatoes skin side down. Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
