  • 2 2/3 lbs (1.2 kg) fresh or frozen and thawed strawberries (about 2 litres / 8 cups)
  • 4 McIntosh apples, cored and sliced

Инструкция

  1. In a saucepan, cook the strawberries and apples over high heat for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
  2. In a food processor, purée the fruit until smooth. Strain and return to the same saucepan.
  3. Bring to a boil and simmer gently for about 2 hours and 30 minutes, stirring frequently, until it has the texture of soft butter.
  4. Sweeten to taste.
  5. This butter will keep for up to two weeks in the refrigerator.
