  • Sparkling Lemonade

    Sparkling Lemonade

Before your meal, everyone can raise their glass of refreshing lemonade made with sparkling water and lime and lemon juice. For the kids, you can add some grenadine syrup for a lovely pink colour, followed by some fruit. For adults, coat the glass rims with salt and pour in some tequila to create a margarita-style drink.

  • Apricot-Braised Fennel

    Apricot-Braised Fennel

Fennel is delicious on its own. Its bulb can be enjoyed raw or braised, as in this recipe, where we sautéed wedges, combined them with chicken broth, apricots and curry powder, and then cooked them until the vegetables were tender. Fennel’s anise-flavoured fronds can be used as an herb. Fennel can also take on a caramelized, almost sweet flavour, making for a wonderful side dish.

With its touch of lime, it brings freshness to your plate, while the herbs delicately perfume the rice and colour it beautifully green.

  • Beef and Zucchini Meatballs

    Beef and Zucchini Meatballs

For a quick weeknight meal that’s good for you, try these beef meatballs with added grated zucchini and oats. Not only did we improve their dietary fibre content, but they’re also super tender and gluten free—as long as you used gluten-free oats—due to their lack of bread or breadcrumbs. They’re delicious when paired with tahini sauce.

  • Poached Eggs in Indian-Style Tomato Sauce

Poached Eggs in Indian-Style Tomato Sauce

This vegetarian recipe, inspired by Middle Eastern shakshuka, is a dish consisting of eggs poached in a tomato sauce, which we’ve adapted by adding Indian spices such as curry, cumin and ginger. For an even heartier meal that can be eaten from brunch to dinner, be sure to add some diced potatoes. It’s a meal that can be prepared using whatever you might have in the pantry or refrigerator.
