    In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the pork chops in the oil and 1 tbsp of butter for 3 minutes per side. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer to a plate and set aside. Clean the skillet.

    Meanwhile, in a saucepan, soften the onion in the remaining butter until translucent. Sprinkle with the flour and cook for 1 minute, while stirring. Add the whiskey. Stir and cook for 2 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Let reduce by a little more than half, about 5 minutes
