Butterscotch Sauce

In a saucepan, bring the sugar, scotch and water to a boil. Cook without stirring until the mixture turns golden brown. Remove from the heat and gradually add the cream, butter and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring until the mixture is smooth. Pour into a bowl and let cool.

Serve over ice cream or cake.
