Margarita
This emblematic Mexican cocktail has travelled the world since its inception and it remains a tasty classic. Made with tequila, orange liqueur, simple syrup and a good amount of lime, this drink is a poolside essential.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 lime wedge
- 1 large ice cube, for serving
- 1 ½ oz (45 ml) tequila
- 1 oz (30 ml) lime juice
- ½ oz (15 ml) clear orange liqueur
- ½ oz (15 ml) clear cane syrup
- ½ cup (125 ml) ice cubes
Instructions
- Place the salt on a small plate. Rub the rim of an old fashioned glass with the lime wedge. Coat the rim with the salt. Place the large ice cube in the glass.
- In a cocktail shaker, vigorously mix the tequila, lime juice, clear orange liqueur, cane syrup and ice cubes. Strain into the glass. Decorate with the lime wedge.
