Prosciutto-Bocconcini Skull
When placing this bare head in the centre of a charcuterie platter on Halloween, you may hear a few screams of fright. To reproduce it, a clean plastic skull is used and then lined with slices of prosciutto. For the eyes, bocconcini cheeses and olives! It’s enough to make your hair stand on end!
Ingredients
- 7 oz (200 g) thinly sliced prosciutto
- 2 cocktail bocconcini, or larger, depending on the size of the skull
- 2 slices green olives, pitted
- 2 cloves
- Ketchup or red hot sauce (optional)
- Charcuterie platter
Instructions
- Wash a plastic skull and pat dry. Cover the skull with the prosciutto slices, leaving the nose and eyes uncovered.
- Cut the bocconcini so they fit into the eye cavities. Secure the olive slices with the cloves into the bocconcini.
- Add a bit of ketchup or hot sauce to look like blood, if desired. Place at the centre of a charcuterie platter or at the centre of the table as decoration.
