Miso-Honey Pork Meatballs
Served with little toothpicks, these meatballs make a perfect amuse-bouche. They’re coated in a honey, ginger, soy and miso sauce for an Asian-inspired treat.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) honey
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, finely chopped
- 3 tbsp (45 ml) low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tsp (5 ml) sambal oelek
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) miso
- 1/2 lb (225 g) lean ground pork
- 1/4 cup (20 g) panko breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 green onion, finely chopped, plus more for serving
- 1 garlic clove, chopped
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) miso
- 1 tsp (5 ml) sambal oelek
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a small pot, bring the honey and ginger to a boil. Simmer for 30 seconds. Add the soy sauce and sambal oelek. Mix well. Simmer for 4 minutes. Remove from the heat. Add the vinegar and miso. Set aside.
