Grilled Steak Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped 

  • 2 tsp five peppercorn blend, crushed
  • 2 tsp coriander seeds, crushed
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds, crushed
  • 1 1/2 lb (675 g) flap or flank steak
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) olive oil
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped dates (about 2 to 4 dates depending on size)
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) lemon juice
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped 

  • 1 tsp (5 ml) Dijon mustard
  • 20 large Boston or curly lettuce leaves 

  • 2 carrots, peeled and cut into julienne

  • 1/2 English cucumber, peeled and cut into julienne

Instructions

  1. In a bowl or sealable bag, combine all of the ingredients. Add the meat and toss to coat. Cover the bowl or seal the bag. Refrigerate for 6 hours or overnight.
