Smoked Mackerel Rillettes
Ingredients
- 1 plain smoked mackerel fillet, about 4 oz (115 g)
- 1/3 cup (75 ml) 35% whipping cream
- 1 tbsp shallot, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp chives, finely chopped
- 1 tsp capers, chopped
- 1 lemon, zest finely grated
- Toasted baguette slices
Instructions
- On a work surface, scrape the skin off of the mackerel using a butter knife. Shred the flesh, being careful to remove any bones.
- In a bowl, whisk the cream until soft peaks form. Using a spatula, fold in the shredded fish and remaining ingredients, except for the baguette. Lightly season with salt and pepper. Serve the rillettes with the baguette.
