Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb (340 g) medium-lean ground beef
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) vegetable oil
  • 2 balls (400 g each) store-bought pizza dough, thawed
  • 1 recipe homemade Big Mac® sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups (150 g) marbled cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) dill pickles, diced
  • 1/2 onion, chopped

Instructions

  1. Place a pizza stone or inverted baking sheet on the middle rack of the oven. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the meat in the oil for 6 minutes, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, or until starting to brown. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer to a bowl. Let cool.
  3. On a floured work surface, working with one ball of pizza dough at a time, press with your hands into a 12-inch (30 cm) circle, keeping a thick boarder all the way around. Place the dough on a piece of parchment paper. Top with half of the sauce, 1/2 cup (50 g) of the cheese, half of the meat, half of the pickles and half of the onion. Garnish with 1/4 cup (25 g) of the cheese.
  4. Using a pizza peel or inverted baking sheet, slide one pizza at a time with the parchment paper onto the hot pizza stone. Bake for 8 minutes or until the crust is golden. Cut into slices and serve immediately.
