Stout-Glazed Beef Skewers

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (250 ml) stout or other dark beer
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup (55 g) lightly packed brown sugar
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 lb (450 g) flap steak, cut into thin strips
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Montreal steak seasoning
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) olive oil
  • Small wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, bring the beer, vinegar and brown sugar to a boil over medium heat. Let the glaze reduce for 15 minutes or until syrupy. Remove from the heat and add the garlic. Transfer to a bowl, cover and refrigerate.
