Basic Rice Cooker Pilaf

Ingredients

  • 1 onion, finely chopped (see note)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 measures* (275 g) white or brown rice, long-grain or parboiled
  • 2 measures* (340 ml) chicken broth for white rice or 2 ½ measures* (420 ml) chicken broth for brown rice

Instructions

  1. Preheat the rice cooker on the Pilaf function for 3 minutes. Soften the onions in the butter for 2 minutes. Add the rice and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly to coat the rice in the butter. Add the broth. Season with salt and pepper. Close the lid.
  2. The rice will be ready when the rice cooker has switched to Warm mode.
