Vanilla Roasted Strawberries
These syrupy roasted strawberries infused with vanilla flavour taste exquisite on a sundae!
Ingredients
- 4 ½ cups (600 g) fresh strawberries, sliced
- ½ cup (105 g) sugar
- 1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise and seeds scraped
Instructions
- With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large baking dish, combine the strawberries, sugar and vanilla seeds. Let sit for 5 minutes to let the sugar melt slightly.
- Roast for 20 minutes or until the strawberries are glazed in sugar and the cooking juices are thick and syrupy. Let cool. Transfer to an airtight container.
- The strawberries will keep for 2 weeks in the refrigerator. Delicious served over cake or in a frozen dessert, such as our
- Peanut Butter and Jelly Sundae.
