Sweet Gondola (Ricotta Stuffed Pears)
Ingredients
- Canned unsweetened pear halves, drained
- Ricotta cheese
- 4 tablespoons (60 ml) maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) butter
- 2 drops vanilla extract
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- Raisins
Instructions
- Place the pears on a baking sheet, cut side up. Fill the pear halves core with ricotta cheese.
- In a small saucepan, combine the maple syrup, brown sugar, butter, vanilla, and cinnamon. Heat, stirring constantly, until all the ingredients are well blended. Do not boil.
- Finally, pour a spoonful or two of hot syrup over the cheese and garnished your masterpiece with chopped hazelnuts or a few raisins.
