Slow Cooker Dulce De Leche

Ingredients

  • 3 cans (300 ml each) sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 (1 cup/250 ml each) Mason jars

Instructions

  1. Line the bottom of the slow cooker with a clean cloth to keep the jars from rattling.
  2. Divide the sweetened condensed milk among the jars. Centre the covers (discs) over the jars and screw on the ring until just set, but not tight. Place in the slow cooker. Add water to just cover the jars, about 12 cups (3 litres).
  3. Cover and cook on Low for 8 hours. It can be maintained on Warm for up to 8 hours.
  4. Remove the jars and place on a dry cloth. Let cool completely.
  5. Serve over ice cream, pancakes, cake or use in your favorite recipes. This dulce de leche will keep for up to 6 months at room temperature. Once opened, it keeps in the refrigerator for 1 month.
