One Layer Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
- 4 oz (115 g) milk chocolate, chopped
- ¾ cup (180 ml) 35% cream
- 1 cup (150 g) unbleached all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 1 cup (210 g) sugar
- ½ cup (125 ml) buttermilk
- ¼ cup (60 ml) canola oil
- 2 tsp (10 ml) vanilla
- ½ cup (50 g) cocoa powder
- ⅓ cup (75 ml) brewed coffee, warm
Instructions
- Place the chocolate in a bowl.
- In a small pot, bring the cream to a boil. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let sit for 1 minute without stirring. Whisk until smooth. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours.
