Caramelized Banana Split
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) water
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) corn syrup
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) sugar
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) 35% cream
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) butter
- 2 bananas, cut in half lengthwise
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) brown sugar
- 12 small scoops vanilla ice cream
- 4 maraschino cherries with stems, drained
Instructions
- In a saucepan, bring water, syrup and sugar to a boil. Cook without stirring until the mixture turns an amber colour.
- Off the heat, gradually add cream and butter, stirring constantly. Beware of splattering. Bring to a boil and cook until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool.
