Caramelized Asian Pears
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) water
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) sugar
- 2 Asian pears, peeled, cored and cut into 8 wedges
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, bring the water and sugar to a boil. Cook until the mixture turns golden. Swirl the skillet around a few times to even out the color.
- Add the pears, taking care to avoid spattering. Cook, stirring frequently, for about 5 minutes.
- Remove the pears, cook until the syrup thickens and pour over the pears.
