Ingredients
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) 2% plain Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) 35% cream
- 1 tbsp chives, finely chopped
- 1/2 shallot, finely chopped (optional)
- 1/2 lemon, zest finely grated
- 1 tsp (5 ml) lemon juice
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the yogurt and cream.
- Place a sieve lined with a clean dishcloth or cheesecloth over another bowl. Pour the yogurt mixture into the sieve. Cover with plastic wrap. Let strain for 4 to 12 hours or overnight in the refrigerator. Discard the liquid.
- Place the strained yogurt mixture in the empty bowl. Add the remaining ingredients. Season with salt and pepper. Mix well. Serve with bagels, hors-d’oeuvres or vegetable crudités.
