The Benediction (Champagne and Herb Liqueur Cocktail)
Ingredients
- 1 oz (30 ml) herb liqueur (such as Bénédictine or Drambuie), cold
- 3 drops Angostura-type bitters
- 5 oz (150 ml) Champagne or dry Prosecco, cold
- 2 juniper berries, halved
- 1 strip lemon zest, about 6 inches (15 cm) long, removed with the channel-knife end of a lemon zester
- 1 thyme sprig
- 1 dill or chervil sprig
Instructions
- Pour the herb liqueur into a Champagne flute. Add the bitters. Top up with the Champagne. Add the juniper berries.
- Curl up the lemon zest. Using a small cocktail pick, hang the lemon zest, thyme and dill on the outside of the glass.
