Satay Sauce
Satay sauce is a creamy Asian-inspired sauce that goes perfectly with both chicken and dumplings. Made with richly flavourful ingredients such as peanut butter and coconut milk, this sauce comes together in minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) red curry paste (see note)
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) vegetable oil
- 1 can (200 ml) coconut milk
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) peanut butter
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) lime juice
- 2 tsp (10 ml) fish sauce
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp (2.5 ml) sriracha sauce
Instructions
- In a small pot over medium heat, cook the curry paste in the oil for 1 minute while stirring. Add the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil while whisking until the mixture is smooth, about 2 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool. The satay sauce will keep for 5 days in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
