Orange Ginger Herbal Tea
Add a personal touch to breakfast by making your own tisane. We used orange zest and candied ginger to lift caffeine-free rooibos tea, but you can use the zest of your favourite citrus (like lemon) or another sweet dried fruit (like coconut), depending on your taste.
Ingredients
- 3 oranges, the finely grated zest
- 4 tsp chopped candied ginger
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp crushed aniseed
- Rooibos tea from 4 tea bags
Instructions
- Place the grated zest on a plate. Microwave for 1 minute, stirring halfway through cooking. Let dry completely.
- In a bowl, combine the dried zest with the remaining ingredients. Spoon 2 tsp of the mixture into individual tea filters. The orange ginger herbal tea will keep for 3 months in an airtight container at room temperature.
