Orange and Cinnamon Hot Chocolate
Ingredients
- 1 orange, grated zest only
- 5 ml (1 tsp) sugar
- 750 ml (3 cups) milk
- 60 ml (¼ cup) cocoa powder
- 1 stick cinnamon, about 10 cm (4-inch) long
- 1 large orange zest, removed with a peeler
- 115 g (4 oz) milk chocolate, finely chopped
- 125 ml (½ cup) milk (approximately)
Instructions
- On a plate, scatter the grated orange zest. Cook in the microwave oven for 30 seconds at a time, stirring between each stop, until the zest is completely dry, about 2 to 3 minutes (Careful, the zest can burn quickly). With a mortar, grind the zest into a fine powder with the sugar. Set aside.
