Maple Candied Spiced Pecans
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) maple syrup
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 cups (200 g) pecan halves
Instructions
- With the rack in the middle position, preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine the maple syrup, spices and salt. Add the pecans and stir to coat well. Spread the pecans out on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes, until the pecans are well-toasted. Let cool. The pecans will keep for 2 weeks in an airtight container at room temperature. If the nuts become sticky, simply dry them out on a baking sheet in an oven preheated to 350°F (180°C) for 5 to 8 minutes.
- Serve as cocktail nibbles.
