Jasmine and Cherry Cocktail
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) water
- 1/4 cup (55 g) sugar
- 2 tbsp jasmine tea leaves (or 1 tea bag)
- 3 oz (90 ml) jasmine syrup
- 2 oz (60 ml) gin
- 1 1/2 oz (45 ml) lemon juice
- 1 oz (30 ml) cherry liqueur
- 1 tsp (5 ml) candied Amarena cherry or maraschino cherry syrup (optional) (see note)
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) ice cubes
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) tonic water, cold
- 2 candied Amarena cherries or maraschino cherries (optional) (see note)
- Small edible flowers (optional)
Instructions
- In a small pot, bring the water and sugar to a boil until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from the heat. Add the tea and let infuse for 5 minutes. Strain through a sieve and refrigerate until completely chilled, about 1 hour. The syrup will keep for 3 weeks in an airtight container in the refrigerator (see note).
