Ginger and Sesame Cabbage Salad
Unlike other cabbage salads that get better with age (hello, kimchi!), this one comes into its own by the time you’ve found your picnic spot. The bold flavours blend together, revealing an addictively fragrant side with added kick.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) lime juice
- 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh ginger
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) honey
- 1 ½ tsp (7.5 ml) toasted sesame oil
- 1 tsp (5 ml) sambal oelek
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 8 cups (400 g) thinly sliced Savoy cabbage
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients with a whisk. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
