Corpse Reviver No. 2
This potent Prohibition-era cocktail was a standout at Las Vegas’ Herbs & Rye, a bustling off-the-Strip cocktail bar.
Ingredients
- 2 dashes absinthe or pastis
- 1 oz (30 ml) gin
- 1 oz (30 ml) Lillet
- 1 oz (30 ml) Cointreau or Triple Sec
- 1 oz (30 ml) lemon juice
- 1 cup (250 ml) ice cubes
- 2 long orange zests, shaved with a vegetable peeler
Instructions
- Add a dash of absinthe to two martini glasses. Rotate the glasses to coat the surface and drain any excess back into the bottle.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine the gin, Lillet, Cointreau, lemon juice and ice. Shake vigorously. Strain into the glasses and garnish with the orange zest.
