Concord Grape Syrup
Ingredients
- 2 cups (420 g) sugar
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) water
- 4 cups (700 g) Concord grapes
Instructions
- In a pot, bring the sugar and water to a boil. Add the grapes. Bring to a boil again. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Let cool.
- Pour into a sieve lined with four layers of cheesecloth and set over a bowl. Let drain naturally, without pressing on the fruit, for 1 hour. You will yield about 2 cups (500 ml) of syrup.
- Pour the syrup into an airtight container. The syrup will keep for 1 month in the refrigerator. Delicious in cocktails, with yogurt or drizzled over a fruit salad.
